Although I now call myself a Cotswold blogger and writer, I was actually born and raised in Sidcup, Kent (pause for cheap cracks from comedians).
I enjoyed a quiet suburban childhood till the age of 14, and then I moved about a bit (Germany, Yorkshire, Surrey, Hertfordshire) before settling down in the place that I’d decided at the age of 3 was my spiritual home – the Cotswolds.
A resident of an idyllic village for more years than I care to admit, I have finally got my work-life balance right, combining family life, leisure writing and running my small business, Off The Shelf Book Promotions, with a fab part-time job helping to run Readathon, a really exciting charity which encourages children to read for pleasure while raising tons of money for seriously ill children all over the country.
I regularly tell my eight year old daughter Laura how lucky she is to be growing up in such a wonderful rural community. Enid Blyton and the Famous Five would feel quite at home here.
I’ve been married for ten years to a Scot named Gordon whom she met in Swindon – and not, as village rumour once had it, a Swede named Scottie.
I have no intention of ever moving house again.
